Newtown, PA ... There were rave reviews from the players, coaches and parents for the first "Meet & Greet the Pro" Event which immediately followed the Pro game held Friday night. The pros shared life experiences and words of advice to the young athletes in attendence. "This was the best part of the PFX for my daughter", a parent said. Many others voiced her sentiments. After watching the Pro game Friday night, young athletes came in droves to sign up for the "Tips from the Pro" Player Clinic. The pitching session, catching session and general skills session were full with tremendous focus and excitement as the amateur athletes got up close and personal with the pros. The coaches enjoyed asking questions and hearing advice from the two legends; Coach Sharron Backus and Coach Sandy Fischer.

In the Pro Game 1, Ashley Monceaux hit in the game winning RBI to capture victory for Team Blue. Rachel Ford on Team Redhad a dynamic throw from left field to get out Lappin at the plate but to no avail as Monceaux stepped up to the plate with a two-out single to left center just out of reach of a diving centerfielder; Laura Berg. Drama was built and Monceaux delivered. Rachel Ford was 2-for-3 as she blasted hits through the left side of the field. Meagan Denny, Kaci Clark,Dana Sorensen and Lisa Fernandez continued to dazzle fans with their pitching skills and prowess.

In Pro Game 2, the highlights included a game lead off homerun blast by Tina Boutelle; the stand out from the University of Texas. Not to be out done; two-time Olympian Natasha Watley drove a ball deep over the right field fence to score two runs and bring Team Blue the win. For the game, Watley was 3-for-3 putting on a hitting clinic for the spectators. Also, three-time Olympian; Lisa Fernandez put on a clinic in the pitching circle as she baffled hitters with her infamous change up, considered to be the number one pitch in the world.

The Pro-Am skill challenges brought smiles to the faces of the youngesters selected, their teammates, family members and other spectators. The highlights included the Women's Sports Foundation involvement with the Pitching Challenge which brought young girls and their moms and other adult female role models to the pitching circle along with their favorite selected pro athletes; Kaci Clark, Meagan Denny and Tina Boutelle. The crowd enjoyed the showmanship of Boutelle who vocally admitted; "I am defintely not a pitcher". The Mattingly Pro Am Home Run Challenge occured in dynamic fashion as Olympian Andrea Duran delivered the final blow with a towering home run over left centerfield to bring her and her young teammate to victory. The amateur received a Mattingly bat and framed autograph certificate from legendary Don Mattingly.

The PFX Tour is preparing for more excitement at the next tour stop; FRESNO! California here we come!

Newtown, Pennsylvania tour stop ... will feature for the first time the "Meet & Greet the Pros" Event which will feature two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Orthopedic Surgeon; Dr. Dot Richardson joined by some of the PFX Pros to spend time with teams and individuals who have purchased tickets. The event will immediately follow the first Pro Game Friday night; Sept. 19th and take place on the playing field. The experts in the game will share motivation, personal experiences and life lessons learned to hopefully make a difference in the lives of those in attendance!

McKinney, Texas tour stop was a HUGE success! The fans were exceptional as they watched the pro games with intensity and meet the PFX Pros with excitement. The PFX Tour amateur division showed so extremely talented young athletes as their teams battled for the championship! The Softball Tips from the Pros Player Clinic was very productive divided into the pitchers session, catchers session and general session. The Pros shared their secrets of their successes to the future of the sport. The general session enjoyed stations that consisted of more than the fundamaentals of the game but life lesson tips like Leadership, Education and Teamwork topics. The Learn from the Pros Coaches Clinic had in attendence many amatuer team coaches who listen and interacted intensely with PFX Coaches; Kirk Walker, Sharron Backus and Sandy Fischer. The Pro Games were highlighted by the outstanding performances from three-time Olympic Gold Medalist; Lisa Fernandez who was responsible for almost all the RBI's to lead her team to victory. Adding to the noteworthy performances was two-time; Natasha Watley who collected four hits and scored the winning run during the second Pro game. Defensively, the most impressive performances came from the rookies; Maegan Denny and Kaci Clark. Both lead their teams with numerous strike outs and scoreless innings. At the tour stop in McKinney, Texas, everyone walked away with anticipation of next years return.

EVERYBODY GET READY!!! The 2008 PFX Tour is getting underway starting on September 5 - 7th in McKinney, Texas at the Ball Fields @ Craig Ranch. Check out the schedule. We have a great season in store for you ... post-Olympic ... don't miss it! The PFX Tour is designed to make the childhood dream of being a professional athlete in the sport of fastpitch softball a reality! Each tour stop has impacted lives in positive ways through a fastpitch festival environment; with Amateur Games, Pro Games, Autograph Session, Pro-Am Skill Challenges, Players' Clinic, Coaches' Clinic and Opening Ceremonies. We are so excited to see the growth of particpation from travel ball teams and spectators at each of the tour stops. We are growing with you! There are seven PFX Pros that are Olympians. Hopefully, you are enjoying watching them at the Games. Imagine seeing them up close and personal. No need to imagine, the PFX Tour brings them to you! Keep in touch as we get the season going!
