Well known and respected for managing the careers of numerous professional athletes for the past nineteen years, Tom McCarthy, is the President & CEO of the PFX Tour. McCarthy has focused the last several years on representing the greatest female athletes in a number of sports and has personally managed the long time careers of softball's two greatest stars, Lisa Fernandez('96, '00 & '04 Olympic Gold Medalist) and Dr. Dot Richardson('96 & '00 Olympic Gold Medalist). Experiencing and developing the growth in women's sports firsthand, the advancement of youth softball worldwide and the rapid development of Olympic softball players, McCarthy's mission is to help the sport of softball grow through opportunity on the PFX Tour. With the International Olympic Committee voting to remove softball from the 2012 Olympic Games, the PFX Tour becomes even more important as the vehicle for women to strive to become professionals in their sport while at the same time becoming excellent role models for the youth of today. Having been one of the original agents to manage female athletes, McCarthy is a pioneer in the representation and marketing of female athletes. He believes female professional athletes have a strong platform and will to act as role models. Breaking down the barriers for female softball players in corporate America became a huge initiative for McCarthy in representing both Fernandez and Richardson. McCarthy, Fernandez and Richardson created many firsts in the softball industry. Their efforts led manufacturers to brand private labeled bats, gloves, batting gloves, cleats, sweatbands, and kneepads and other products with their likenesses at most major retail stores and a boom in female specific products was born. Today, it has grown into a multi-million dollar industry. After many years of managing and directing the careers of individual star athletes, McCarthy is excited to manage a business team that provides opportunity for millions of young girls and women worldwide.
